The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Arbeitsrecht im Deutschen AnwaltVerein (Labour Law Group of the German Bar Association) comprises of some 3.000 lawyers with a special interest in labour law. It has existed since 1981. Its members act both for employers and employees, and the organization is politically independent. Its primary aim is to foster contacts between its members and to provide professional training. The most important platform are the annual spring and autumn conferences. In addition, all members receive a quarterly review informing them on important employment tribunal decisions as well as legislative developments. The organization tries to be as open as possible and has therefore no formal requirements for membership (other than being duly enrolled in the German Bar). In particular, members do not have to demonstrate how long they have been practising labour employment law and to what extent.
The main feature of the organization's website is a search function, which allows to search for members according to their subspecialization, town/region, language skills as well as knowledge of foreign labour law systems.
